Mooshroom Spawner Won't Work In Factions?

Me and my faction members placed a mooshroom spawner inside of the ground(but you can see the top, like they have in spawn) and it won't spawn. Why?

You may need mycelium blocks by it ( you could also try grass blocks, but I think you need the mycelium for mooshroom, not 100% positive on that)

Correct, Jaide :) As of 1.8 mooshrooms need mycelium for their monster spawner to work (and spawning in general).
